Java is our youngest female, born August 2005.  Java is from the same parents as Grebe, but is completely her own girl.  She is such a sweetie, very cuddly, as you can see by the photos in the gallery.  She is eager to please and learns quickly.  She has beautiful, blocky conformation, loves to retrieve, and proves the “wives’ tale” wrong that says chocolates are more difficult to train. She has the same lineage as Grebe, including Pachanga Magnum Force, Westwind’s Bold TigerTrumarc’s Zipcode, Trieven Thunderhead, Snake Eyes-Double or Nothing, Kelly’s Midnight Trapper, Mueller’s Stormy Canada, and others.

Red River Retrievers

Healthy, Happy Labs—From our home to yours

Our girls are all part of the family.  They take turns accompanying us on our family outings and hanging out inside with us.   Scroll down to see them all, in the order that they joined our family:

Our Girls

Sage was our first female.  She is high-spirited and loves to retrieve so much that she was chasing a tennis ball right up until 30 minutes before she gave birth to her first puppy.  She’s about 70 lbs, muscular and trim, and as fast as a rocket.  She’s smart, good with kids, and affectionate.  Sage’s pedigree includes English and American Labs, show champions Elway Mahogany and Nimloth Black Jack and Bounty Grant and Killingworth lines.

Grebe is our “horse.”  She is larger than our other females, and we’ve noticed, extremely strong.  She’s our smiler, making a funny little grin back at us when we smile at her. Grebe  is spirited and intelligent, extremely gentle and playful, and is an eager retriever.  Grebe has an incredible pedigree, full of champions from all the trials and hunt tests (25 to be exact).  Some of the names in her lineage include champions Pachanga Magnum Force, Westwind’s Bold TigerTrumarc’s Zipcode, Trieven Thunderhead, Snake Eyes-Double or Nothing, Kelly’s Midnight Trapper, Mueller’s Stormy Canada, and others.
